The ideas and techniques that fuel successful improv empower people to work together in exciting and productive ways. Successful improvisers embody presence, creativity, and supportive collaboration. Washington Improv Theater’s WIT AT LARGE workshops foster these same qualities in your team, leaving them energized, refocused, and eager to build on the individual strengths of team members. We foster a fun, relaxed and creative environment that maximizes personal engagement and emphasizes learning through doing. WIT AT LARGE

unleash creativity
When was the last time you let yourself have a great idea? The daily grind can condition us to distrust and dismiss our creative impulses, leaving us feeling blocked and blank. Our exercises in spontaneity share tactics that allow workers to not only respect their impulses, but to make the most of them. Connect this brainstorming to collaboration and the team has a whole new way to draw out and build on one another’s brilliance.

stimulate teambuilding
Do your “group efforts” take a little too much effort? Our exercises help co-workers think beyond competition and dare to trust the team. When people relax into challenges and are open to new ways of interacting, they can effectively achieve otherwise unobtainable results. Creating a positive and fun work environment and approaching work with a spirit of play leads teams in brand new directions that a “business as usual” approach will always miss.

enhance communications
What are you saying before you even open your mouth? WIT AT LARGE workshops include exercises that explore physical presence, constructive non-verbal dynamics, and seeing the world from different personal and cultural perspectives. Beyond non-verbal communications, WIT also talks the talk—strengthening public speaking skills, managing workplace conflict, and shedding light on personal communication styles. Communication is paramount in work today. And WIT can help your people make theirs as effective as possible.

inspire leadership
What makes a great leader? Creative risk-taking, trustworthiness, and a skill for getting the best out of a team. These are the same qualities that make great improvisers. WIT’s leadership training focuses on empathy, trust, and team empowerment through a lens of full-on engagement. Develop techniques to overcome the pressure, negativity and the personal politics that can stand in the way of success. These workshops give you skills to harness your team’s focus and productivity for the good of the team.
