Jackie is a super old group of improvisers. Back when we started doing improv, it took two hands to operate an improv phone. Most of our scenes in the beginning were focused on finding enough food to survive the winter. Women did woman work in the home and the men were out hunting with accurately mimed bows and spears. Now, women can do scenes in the CEO's office and men can have babies. Honestly, nobody thought we'd make it this long and our improvised 401K is dwindling, but we're still having fun.

Jackie is comprised of six of the areas most deliciously seasoned improvisers:

Ken Hays. Plucked straight from the rough cul-de-sacs of northern Virginia, WIT's training program honed Ken into a one-man improv machine.  He began back in 2003 as a founding member of the troupe Jackie, and continued his lofty climb to the top of Mount WIT, receiving top honors in the 2008 Tournament of the FIST as part of the winning team Polygamy.  He has gained further notoriety through the creation of the organic game "Calvinball", as well as the "Blow-up Edit" which he co-founded with Richard Nyman in the 2007 production of Interns.  Ken is also known for his ruthless teaching methods and bloodthirsty directing style.  Hey, the truth hurts.
Sean Murphy has been working with WIT since 2002. He is a graduate of the WIT training program, was a founding member of the longform improv ensemble JINX, and credits WIT for giving him the courage to embark on an acting career. Sean’s feature film debut came in November 2011, working with Clint Eastwood on his film, J.Edgar. He has had small roles on HBO's The Wire, Court TV's Missing Persons Unit, the Kennedy Center's production of Die Walkure, and the Coen Brothers’ Burn After Reading. Sean also wrote and directed the upcoming independent television pilot, Consulting.
Rich Nyman first got involved with WIT since he moved to DC in 2004. A graduating student of WIT's training program, he helped form WIT ensemble JINX before joining Jackie. After some time away, Rich is thrilled to return to Jackie as a guest player for their performances during FIST. Rich cut his improv teeth as an undergraduate as part of the University of Michigan's sketch and improv troupes Comedy Company and Without a Net.
Michelle Guardino Swaney is an Italian girl from Staten Island, New York. And she’s a lawyer. Terrified yet? Good. Sometime in the past, Michelle performed with Boston College's improv troupe, My Mother's Fleabag, and she later played with East Bay Improv in California. Then, citing creative differences with her inner child, she accidently put her creative self on extended hiatus while she started a career. But as with all complicated relationships, she couldn't stay away. So shortly after moving to DC in 2006, Michelle signed up for WIT's training program and fell in love with improv all over again. She is proud to have also been a part of 2008 FIST champs Polygamy, 2009 FIST champs Not Mad. Disappointed, and the legendary WIT ensemble JINX. Michelle is married to a handsome genius and is the mother of a brilliant beauty.
In fourth grade Greg Tindale told his math teacher that when he grew up he wanted to be an architect or a stand up comic. Greg has grown up and now he is a real estate agent and an improvisational comedic actor. Other dreams Greg had as a ten year old that he came really close to fulfilling but failed to succeed at include owning a copy of XMen #1, flying a space ship with Chewbacca, and wrestling Hacksaw Jim Duggan for the Intercontinental Belt. A habitual athlete, in 2005, Greg realized there is no glory in organized sports for adults and decided to hang up the cleats. Improv now fulfills his need to be part of a team. Greg still jumps rope for an hour before every Jackie show to loosen up.
Joe Uchno By day, Joe is a mild mannered engineer. Pocket protector, taped glasses; the whole deal. By night he is a surly pirate, or a condescending vampire, and once a highly suggestive stewardess with a heart of gold. This is not magic and Joe is not a superhero. This is due to the wonder that is improv. After spending his formative years in Pennsylvania, Joe moved to New York City and discovered improv at the UCB Theatre. Having settled in DC in 2005, Joe is now tickled pink to be a member of Jackie. Joe hopes to see you soon, and that you'll join him in his quest to bring the pocket protector back to prominence.
